Dear Friends and Supporters,
These last 4 months in Austin have been incredible to say the least! My residency at the Austin Stone has been refreshing, life-changing and encouraging as I continue to grow as a worship leader and pastor.
Keep reading to see how God is using me as well as how you can become a part of our ministry team!
It's been humbling to see God using me in many ways including:
- Leading worship at various Austin Stone services and huddles as well as churches in need around Texas.
- Creating the Story Arc each week, or the weekly liturgy. This includes suggested song sets, "calls to worship" and other elements that pertain to Sunday services across all 5 campuses of the Austin Stone. Doing this each week has strengthened my prayer life as I seek the Lord with what He desires for worship services. I’ve seen so much spiritual fruit come out of this time of planning and preparation.
- Leading a team of over 50 volunteers to serve and pour into worship leaders at the Austin Stone Worship Conference (read my blog about the conference here). Not only was I fortunate to lead this team, but I was also able to see the Lord use them to minister to the over 530 worship leaders and pastors in attendance from 26 states and 3 countries.
- Discipling and pouring into younger worship residents as they begin to start serving in ministry. It's been extremely humbling to have been given the opportunity to see them grow in their leadership and prepare for a life of ministry in wherever God calls them.
We are beyond humbled and blessed that the Lord would choose to use us here in Austin and in the ministry of the Austin Stone!
We wanted to let you know of some specific needs we have moving into the new year. As we near the end of 2015, Jessica and I once again worked through our family budget and realized we are in need of about $4,200, which breaks down to $350 more per month to meet our budget needs. While we feel extremely blessed to have been living on the generous support of others, we've come across unforeseen costs associated with living in Austin.
This added money per month would help ease the burden of expenses including gas to and from work, increased medical costs, childcare and living expenses, and would allow us to continue to faithfully lead and minister at the Austin Stone.
However our biggest concern going forward (and one we want you to pray with us as well), is the possibility that Jessica will need her wisdom teeth removed in early 2016 (ouch!). We'd like to begin saving up for this since we’ve had multiple dentists say this procedure most definitely needs to happen.
For those of you who’ve supported us financially thus far we want you to know how thankful we are that you've afforded our family the opportunity to be here and minister in Austin! This letter is to simply let you know how we're doing and where we are. If these are needs you could meet please feel free, although we’re certainly not expecting this!
Many of you have also been our prayer partners through this journey, and for that we are extremely grateful! We truly believe there is no substitute for the power of prayer. However, if you have not yet been able to give towards our ministry in a financial way we are asking you to pray towards meeting the needs I've mentioned above. We know the Lord will continue to provide for us in abundant ways and we’re hopeful the Lord would lead you to be a part of our team in a real tangible way!
