We finally made it to Austin! It seemed like it took forever to get here (especially with the difficulties we had with the moving company). Last Friday we moved into our house just east of Round Rock in a city called Hutto. Jessica and I have been hard at work getting this house ready amidst the realization that we've accumulated too much stuff over the past 7 years, haha! It amazes me at how quickly my wife can make our house a home, she's so incredible!
Liv and Landry are enjoying the new place as well, although the tile floors throughout the house aren't Landry's favorite when he falls. He's tough though, guess he gets that from his dad :) We're really excited to be here and can't wait to see the Lord work through us in the ministry He's called us to at the Austin Stone. For those of you who've prayed with us and helped us get here, we want to say thank you! Jessica and I are so grateful for the support and encouragement we've received as we've stepped into this new season.
Looking back over the past 2 months I've been humbled to see God's faithfulness and provision. From us being able to quickly sell our house in Forney (in 2 days we had 8 offers, all over asking price), to the support raising, to finding a new house, our God has been so overwhelmingly faithful. I was talking to someone the other day telling them all the Lord has been doing and he quickly replied, "it's so obvious this ministry at the Stone is of the Lord." I quickly agreed.
As I was reading through Ephesians this morning, the well-known passage from Ephesians 3:20 spoke to me as I was reminded that through the power at work within us, "God is able to do far more abundantly all that we ask or think." The apostle Paul blesses the Lord, praising Him for His provision and ability to do more than we could ever imagine. My prayer is that even though we've seen God provide in incredible ways, He would remind me daily of His amazing power, all to the praise of His glorious grace. He's called us to this ministry and while we've seen Him do so much already, we also trust that this is only the beginning. Today my heart echoes with the end of Ephesians 3, "to Him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever, Amen." God is faithful... and able.
To this point we are 86% of the way towards reaching our first year support goal! If you are reading this and feel the Lord leading you to partner with us, we would love to talk with you! We know the Lord will provide and we take comfort in the fact that we serve a God who has abundant resources. If you've already supported us we need your help to spread the word. Part of support raising is not only reaching out to friends and people who have supported us in the past but also reaching new people by referrals. Feel free to pass our story along to those you feel would have an interest in supporting us. Help us make it to 100% by August!
We love you all and are excited to update you with all the Lord is doing at the Austin Stone and in our family in the coming months! Thank you for your prayers, encouragement and support!
